Christmas shopping in Winchester

Still need to finish your Christmas Shopping then why not consider Winchester and visit Glitterarti in the Guildhall of this historic city?

Winchester is one of the most popular Christmas Markets in the UK, with over half a million visitors between mid-November and the 22nd of December. The pretty wooden chalets are situated in the Cathedral’s historic Close surrounding an open-air ice rink. Many of the exhibitors are British Crafts hand-picked for their quality and uniqueness.

Winchester is a vibrant city and easy to explore on foot. It was once England’s ancient capital and the former seat of King Alfred the Great. King Arthur’s legendary round table has been housed in the Great Hall for over 700 years. There is much to see and do in Winchester so why not spend a couple of days to explore the sites whilst doing some Christmas shopping at the same time.

The whole city comes alive in the lead up to Christmas with many interesting events happening in adjoining historic buildings, one of the largest is the Winchester Guildhall which will be home to numerous additional craft and gift exhibitors on the 9 th and 13 th of December.
